Privacy Notice

This notice describes what Lane County Released Inmates may collect, why that information is used, and when it may be shared. It also explains cookies, outside websites, security limits, children's privacy, and choices about personal data. Using the site means accepting these practices. A visitor who follows a government link or uses a partner search tool will also be subject to that outside service's own privacy terms.

Information You Submit

Search Terms

A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Lane County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may process the query under its separate privacy policy and terms.

Messages Sent to Us

If you send an email or contact-form message, we retain the message and supplied contact details as needed to respond. That material is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.

Information Collected Automatically

Standard web systems may record technical and usage details when a page loads. These logs can contain:

  • The visitor's Internet Protocol address.
  • Browser type and version.
  • Device type and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them.
  • The referring website, when one is supplied.
  • Date and time stamps for requests.

Cookies

Cookies and similar browser storage may help show how visitors use the site. You can block or delete cookies through browser settings. Some site or partner features may work differently when cookies are unavailable.

How Information Is Used

Collected information supports limited operational and analytical purposes:

  • Keeping pages available, responsive, and secure.
  • Sending search requests to the selected partner tool.
  • Learning which Lane County resource pages are useful.
  • Finding errors, misuse, and technical faults.
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect inferred interests.

Other Websites and Advertising

Links may lead to Lane County jail records, Oregon corrections resources, courts, federal locators, and third-party search tools. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy controls its collection and use of data. Oregon government record access is governed separately by applicable law, including the Oregon Public Records Law, ORS 192.311 through 192.478.

Advertising partners may use their own technology to track activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs on the partner's systems and is governed by its policies, not by this notice alone.

Parties That May Receive Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be handled by:

  • Search partners that process a submitted query.
  • Analytics providers that measure site use.
  • Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads.
  • Law-enforcement agencies or other government bodies acting under a valid legal order.

Security Has Practical Limits

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used to protect information under our control. No website, network, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed fully secure. We therefore cannot promise that a breach, loss, interception, or unauthorized access will never occur.

Visitors Younger Than Eighteen

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted information, use the Get in Touch page to request review and deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and the ability to verify a request, you may ask to:

  • Receive a copy of personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete personal information that need not be retained.
  • Opt out of certain processing where that choice is available.

This privacy notice may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A revised version takes effect when posted here and will carry an updated effective date. Effective date: August 1, 2026.
